Vesperal Liturgy of Holy Saturday

This service is a blend of vespers and liturgy, and features 15 Old Testament readings.  The church vestments are changed to white as we sing "Arise O God"; this is our foretaste of Pascha!

Practice List:

• Old Testament Refrains - sung quietly underneath the reader - see the video below for the 15th Old Testament reading at the 8 minute mark

• Arise O God - the video features a descant, but we will pitch this a little lower so the melody is doable for everyone.

• Let All Mortal Flesh - note that we don't sing the western Picardy carol melody! This takes the place of the Cherubic Hymn.  I couldn't find any video of it being performed but did find another choir director's learning video for her choir.
