Pattern:   AC ||: ABC :|| X

This tone has two leading patterns - A and C - followed by a repeating "ABC" pattern, then the concluding cadence X.  There is sometimes a variant of C that goes up rather than down - often when it it's the second last line in a verse - but watch the choir director for indications of this.  

Model Melody:  The Resurrectional Troparion ("Let the heavens rejoice...") or the Nativity Kontakion (perhaps the most famous kontakion, composed by St Romanos the Melodist - our version is quite plain actually, so I encourage you to look up others!) - sheet music for both is in the handouts, and I've included a video of the Resurrectional Troparion.
