Typically, we will follow the OCA text for wedding services, which has music settings incorporated into it. Click here to view the pdf.
There is some music that is familiar, but quite a bit that is not. Please look through the entire file prior to the service. If there is a piece that is unfamiliar or that you have not been able to practice, please do not join in the singing for that piece.
A few notes:
The Prokeimenon setting is quite high, but we will transpose it down a third.
For the Our Father, we will replace the Kedrov setting with the Soloviev setting, linked here.
Please pay special attention to practicing the Dance of Isaiah, which is the high point of the service. I've included a YouTube video below, but keep in mind they have added a descant part (the highest voice there - we will sing the one lower than that).
While people are filing into church before the service, Matushka Leanne will sing a few pieces to discourage too much chatter (though this may prove impossible!). If you know them (some will be familiar) or can read music, please join in! However this is not the place to practice them for the first time. :) Among the selections:
